Amamiguntou National Park
Amami Archipelago National Park is a national park designated for its value of the diverse and rich ecosystems and environmental culture (scenery and climate formed through the relationship between people and nature) of the eight inhabited islands of the Amami Archipelago, where rainfall is abundant due to the influence of the Kuroshio Current and seasonal winds, and the area is home to diverse life from land to sea, including rainforests, which are rare in subtropical regions, and coral reefs at the northern limit of the world. The area nurtures a diversity of life from land to sea, and people's lives are closely connected with the surrounding nature.
