Tourism EXPO JAPAN 2024

National Park (Daisen-Oki / Setonaikai / Ashizuri-Uwakai)

Daisen-Oki National Park
This park consists of Mt.Daisen, the highest peak in the Chugoku Region, as well as Hiruzen Highland, Mt.Senjo, Mt.Mitoku, Mt.Sanbe, the Oki Islands, which are recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark, and the coastal area of the Shimane Peninsula, which is recognized as a Japanese National Geopark. The area is also home to Mt. Daisen and Mt. Mitoku, sacred places of mountain worship with a history of 1,300 years. Many traditional Shinto rituals and festivals are still held in various parts of the region, and the way of life that has been handed down along with culture and history is blended into the beautiful natural scenery. The charm of Daisen-Oki National Park lies in the fact that visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in the mountains, on the islands, and in the sea, while experiencing the original Japanese lifestyle.

Setonaikai National Park
The view of the archipelago from a boat or from a small observation deck changes with the seasons and the time of day, making it a delightful place to visit time and time again. By staying overnight at famous tourist spots such as Miyajima and Mt. Rokko, or by enjoying the old townscapes, original island scenery, and casual conversation with the locals, this is a place where you can travel as if you were living there.
Island hopping by boat or bicycle, yachting, glamping, and other relaxing and out-of-the-ordinary experiences.
The island's history, industrial facilities, and artwork offer visitors a chance to learn about the island's nature, history, and lifestyle, and to reflect on their own.

Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park
A national park located in the southwestern part of Shikoku. It extends from western Kochi Prefecture to Nanyo in Ehime Prefecture, covering the coast, offshore islands, and inland areas.
The Ashizuri area on the Kochi Prefecture side has dynamic cliffs, while the Uwakai area on the Ehime Prefecture side has intricate and delicate topography. Both areas are influenced by the Kuroshio Current, but the appeal of this national park is that you can enjoy various aspects of the park, such as the way people interact with nature as well as the nature that forms the foundation, and the cultural differences that can be seen across the prefectural border.
Marine activities such as snorkeling, diving, and glass boats are available to enjoy the underwater scenery. Canyoning and trekking can also be enjoyed in the mountainous areas.
