Chita Peninsula Tourism Area Council
We provide tourist information for the five cities and five towns on the Chita Peninsula (Handa City, Tokoname City, Tokai City, Obu City, Chita City, Agui Town, Higashiura Town, Minamichita Town, Mihama Town, and Taketoyo Town). The area has some of the best fermented food culture and industrial tourism content in the country, and fermentation tourism (miso, tamari, soy sauce, and sake) is particularly noteworthy.
In the south, there are popular islands such as Himakajima and Shinojima, and although it is sandwiched between Ise Bay and Mikawa Bay, not only fishing but also agriculture is thriving, and you can enjoy the corresponding gourmet food on each island. Also called the Flower Peninsula, Chita Peninsula, you can enjoy viewing red spider lilies, sunflowers, and orchids in season, and you can enjoy picking fruits from various regions such as strawberries and grapes.
