Tourism EXPO JAPAN 2024
Urban DMO Tokyo Kita City Tourism Association
We are pleased to introduce "Junmai Daiginjo Hiei," a new sake produced by the UrbanDMO Tokyo Kita City Tourism Association from the "Mecca of Sake" in Kita city, Tokyo.
Hiei, named after Asukayama and Shibusawa Eiichi, is a premium sake that can play the leading role in a meal.
The "Red Brick Sake Brewery (former brewing laboratory)" in Kita city is an important cultural asset of Japan and a special place that is currently closed to the public. In the past, people from sake breweries all over Japan visited the factory, where research trials, brewing, personnel training, and sake competitions were held for 120 years, and Kita city is considered a sacred place for sake.
Eiichi Shibusawa, who was chosen as the face of the new 10,000 yen bill, lived in Asukayama in Kita city for 30 years and pioneered the future of Japan from this area. The Tokyo Kita city Tourist Association has planned a new sake to commemorate the selection of Eiichi Shibusawa as the face of the new banknote, along with the story of "Kita city, the sacred land of sake". The premium sake "Tobiei" was completed after five years of planning.
Asukayama Yeast" was miraculously created by blending two types of yeast and brewed with the innovative technology of Tokyo port brewery, the only sake brewery in the 23 wards of Tokyo. The fruity and refreshing taste makes it an easy-to-drink gem that blends well with any meal. It is a special food sake that can play the leading role in a meal. As a product that weaves together the history of the sacred land of sake and the late Mr. Eiichi Shibusawa, it makes a perfect souvenir or gift.
Tokyo's Kita Ward is also thriving with various other initiatives related to Shibusawa Eiichi!
Today we will be introducing Hiei, a sake produced by our association, and products born from the "Tokyo Kita city Shibusawa Eiichi Project," so please feel free to stop by our booth!
