Tourism EXPO JAPAN 2024
Shukuba JAPAN & SHINAGAWA TOURISM ASSOCIATION
Shinagawa has been known by its name since the Heian period and flourished as a port of Edo Bay during the Kamakura period. During the Edo period, with the establishment of the Tokaido post station system, Shinagawa became the first post station. The area along the road is dotted with historic temples and shrines, retaining the atmosphere of an old post town.
The Shinagawa Tourism Association has been working for over 25 years to promote tourism, aiming to revitalize the local community and develop industries. In collaboration with local residents, various organizations, and Shinagawa Ward, they have been discovering new tourism resources in the areas of history, culture, nature, industry, and technology, and disseminating information about them.
Shukuba JAPAN Co., Ltd. plans and operates "community-integrated" accommodation facilities centered on guesthouses in the old Tokaido Shinagawa post town. Leveraging this expertise, they also support the opening of guesthouses and train personnel capable of providing hospitality rooted in the community. Since its founding, Shukuba JAPAN has been working in collaboration with the Shinagawa Tourism Association to promote tourism-based community development, utilizing local tourism resources.
