Tourism EXPO JAPAN 2024
Oshima Town
Izu Oshima, the closest island to the capital Tokyo, is a place where you can enjoy the wilderness nurtured by volcanoes, and you can still see its characteristics such as culture and traditions. It is an attractive island where you can enjoy camellias and Oshima cherry blossoms in spring, marine activities in summer, and trekking from autumn to winter. Volcanic activity is still visible in the popular Miharasan Central Crater, and fumaroles (water vapor) can be seen nearby. The black land called the back desert is also a very popular spot as a filming location. In addition to tourism, we value the value of these resources, utilize them for education, disaster prevention, industry, etc., and are still active as an area certified as a Japan Geopark.
