Tourism EXPO JAPAN 2024

SEMBOKU CITY RURAL EXPERIENCE ASSOCIATION

Semboku City is a representative tourist destination in Akita Prefecture, with many famous tourist spots such as Lake Tazawa, the deepest lake in Japan (423.4 m), nationally famous hot springs such as Nyuto Onsenkyo and Tamagawa Onsen, and the elegant Samurai House Street in Kakunodate, which is worthy of being called the Little Kyoto of Tohoku, attracting many tourists throughout the four seasons. The city is visited by a large number of tourists throughout the four seasons. The Akita Shinkansen (bullet train) stops at two stations in the city, providing easy access from the Tokyo metropolitan area in about 3 hours without transfers.
The city is also a leader in green tourism, and there are accommodation facilities such as farmer's inns throughout the city that offer green tourism, including farming and mountain village experiences. The owners, who have a wealth of experience in welcoming visitors from overseas, treat their guests as if they were their own family members. In recent years, outdoor activities that take advantage of the vast nature have become popular, including green season activities such as kayaking, SUP and electric kick-boarding, as well as skiing and snowboarding at Lake Tazawa ski resort, where high-quality powder snow can be enjoyed by everyone, from beginners to experts.
Semboku City is a great place to enjoy a private getaway, and we have a local travel agency that can arrange reservations for farmhouse guesthouses, outdoor activities, and more, and the local staff can provide guidance and support services in English. We look forward to welcoming you.
