Tourism EXPO Japan 2026

SUMIDA AQUARIUM

Sumida Aquarium is a fully indoor aquarium located on the 5th and 6th floors of Tokyo Solamachi® in Tokyo Skytree Town®. Under our brand message "Get closer, and there's even more to love," our facility features 360-degree tanks viewable from all angles and open-air displays without acrylic panels, allowing visitors to feel the presence of the living animals up close. Additionally, there is no set route within the aquarium, and with chairs and sofas placed throughout the facility, visitors can relax and enjoy their favorite spots just like spending time in a park.

Our facility features the "Nature Aquarium" nature aquascape by Aqua Design Amano—one of only two such aquarium exhibits in the world—as well as an open-air, indoor pool-style tank housing penguins and fur seals. The Ogasawara Area brings to life the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Ogasawara Islands located 1,000 km away from mainland Tokyo, the "Edorium" goldfish exhibition showcases Tokyo's culture and traditions, and the basin-style tank "Big Schale" makes visitors feel as though they are standing right on top of a sea of approximately 500 drifting jellyfish.

We actively engage in our initiative "AQTION!" to pass on vital values to future generations of children through marine conservation efforts, local community partnerships, and daily free workshops held in a dedicated area. We are also fully equipped and warmly welcome large groups of visitors including school groups. We accommodate flexible group admissions that allow students to enjoy the Asakusa and Oshiage areas (including Tokyo Skytree Town and Solamachi) without needing to use public transportation or worry about strict time constraints. We also promote versatile use of our space, such as after-hours private aquarium rentals and photo weddings that take advantage of our unique nighttime atmosphere.
