Tourism EXPO Japan 2025 Aichi/Central Japan

Furukawa Art Museum/ Tamesaburo Museum

At the Furukawa Art Museum and its annex, the Tamezaburō Memorial Museum, between 30% and 50% of our visitors come from outside Japan. This is largely due to the convenient access from hotels near Nagoya Station and Sakae Station via public transportation or taxi, as well as the unique opportunity to experience authentic Japanese culture within the city.
A major highlight is the opportunity to participate in tea ceremony and incense ceremony experiences at the Tamezaburō Memorial Museum, available upon request. These programs offer guests a chance to encounter the essence of "real Japan."
(For general information about the Tamezaburō Memorial Museum, please refer to our public promotional materials.)
During the tea ceremony, guests are served using tea utensils that were once used by Furukawa Tamezaburō himself to welcome guests in his residence—now part of the Furukawa Art Museum's collection.
The incense ceremony features genuine incense materials that were used by historical figures from the 1400s to 1500s—not replicas, but authentic items.
