Tourism EXPO Japan 2025 Aichi/Central Japan

Higashiyama Skytower

Higashiyama Sky Tower is an observation tower located next to the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya. The zoo spans 60 hectares and is home to over 500 animal species and 7,000 plant species, attracting about 2.9 million visitors annually. Popular highlights include koalas and the famously handsome gorilla, as well as Japan's only Komodo dragon on display.

The Sky Tower rises above the zoo, and from the observation deck 100 meters above ground (180 meters above sea level), visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the zoo below and the city of Nagoya. Open until 9:30 PM (last entry at 9:00 PM), the tower is recognized as one of Japan's "Top 100 Night Views" and part of the "Japan Nightscape Heritage," also designated as a "Lover's Sanctuary."

On the top floor, the casual Italian restaurant Moet & Dining offers meals ranging from ¥1,000 to ¥2,000, served alongside stunning views. Group dining is available for up to 90 guests, with custom pricing available upon request.

The observation deck's gift shop, SKY ZOO, features adorable animal-themed items as well as exclusive original goods inspired by animals of the zoo, designed by local artist NAMIKO.
