Shirahama,Kudoyama,Koya Regional Tourism Council
Shirahama Town, Wakayama Prefecture's leading tourist destination; Koyasan Town, a sacred site designated as a World Heritage Site; and Kudoyama Town, the gateway to Koyasan pilgrimages. The three towns, each with their own unique historical heritage and tourist resources, have joined forces to establish a council to further promote tourism.
Nanki Shirahama is a resort destination visited by 3 million people a year; Kudoyama is blessed with historical heritage including a World Heritage Site and historic sites associated with Sanada Yukimura; and Mount Koya, a sacred site designated as a World Heritage Site and boasting a history dating back over 1,200 years.
