Tourism EXPO JAPAN 2024
Izumi city
Izumi City is located in the northwestern part of Kagoshima Prefecture. It is an hour's drive from Kagoshima Airport and approximately 4 hours from Shin-Osaka Station to Izumi Station on the Kyushu Shinkansen Line, making it easily accessible from the Kanto and Kansai regions. Major tourist attractions include the " Izumi Crane Wintering Site," a Ramsar Convention-listed wetland, and "IZUMI FUMOTO" one of the largest groups of samurai residences in Japan.
At the " Izumi Crane Overwintering Site," more than 10,000 cranes overwinter every year. The sight of these cranes gracefully spreading their wings and flapping their wings in the sky is a unique winter scene in Izumi that cannot be seen anywhere else.
At " IZUMI FUMOTO" visitors can enjoy wearing kimonos and yukata (light cotton kimono) and armor and riding in an ox cart in a landscape that still retains the atmosphere of 400 years ago, and can casually experience the atmosphere of samurai residences in the newly created Japanese garden.
