Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Expressway Company Limited

We manage the Following three routes of the Honshu-Shikoku Expressway, which play a role as both a part of the national expressway network and main traffic roads in the Setouchi region, the one around the Seto Inland Sea.

Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway
The Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway, which marks its 25th anniversary this year, is 89 km route that crosses the Akashi Strait from Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, goes south through the Awaji Island and crosses the Naruto Strait, which is famous for its whirlpools. As a route that directly connects the Kansai economic zone and Shikoku, it has produced significant effects in revitalizing economy etc.
Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge is one of the world's largest suspension bridges with a total length of 3,911m and a central span length of 1,991m. We hold a popular tour of "Bridge World for Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge", in which we takes you to the top of its tower.

Seto-Chuo Expressway
The Seto-Chuo Expressway, marking its 35th anniversary this year, is the route that goes through the Seto Inland Sea, which is one of the first national parks designated in Japan and known for its overwhelmingly beautiful seascape of archipelago. This route has the Seto-Ohashi Bridge, which collectively refers to six bridges spanning length of 9.4 km. The view of various kinds of bridges side by side in a row is spectacular.

Nishi-Seto Expressway (Setouchi Shimanami Kaido)
This route, nicknamed "Setouchi Shimanami Kaido", is a 59.4 km route that connects the Geiyo Islands, where the strongest sailors in the Seto Inland Sea, the "Murakami Suigun," once had a heroic sea romance. Each bridge, except for Shin-Onomichi Bridge, has roads exclusively for mopeds, bicycles and pedestrians from Onomichi to Imabari City, which means that they serve not only as access roads linking Honshu and Shikoku, but also as community roads for people living on the islands. In recent years, the Setouchi Shimanami Kaido has been attracting attention from overseas as a cyclist's mecca.
