Tourism EXPO Japan 2026

Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park

Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park is the most visited national park in Japan.

Centered around Mt. Fuji, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, the park is made up of four distinctive areas: the Hakone Area, known for its long history as a post town and one of Japan's most famous hot spring destinations; the Mt. Fuji Area, renowned for its magnificent landscapes of mountains, lakes, and highlands surrounding Japan's iconic peak; the Izu Peninsula Area, featuring the Amagi Mountains, dramatic coastlines, and a rich onsen culture; and the Izu Islands Area, where visitors can experience active volcanoes, whale watching, and a wide range of marine activities on islands including Oshima and Miyakejima.
From magnificent mountain scenery, crystal-clear lakes, and beautiful coastlines to hot springs, island adventures, outdoor activities, and unique local cuisine, an extraordinary variety of experiences can be found within a single national park. While each of the four areas offers its own distinctive appeal, their landscapes and natural environments have all been shaped by the dynamic forces of the Earth, including volcanic activity and tectonic movements.
