Kyoto Nishiyama: Kyoto Otokuni Bamboo Grove Area is located in the southwestern part of Kyoto and comprises the two cities of Muko and Nagaokakyo, the town of Oyamazaki, and the Rakusai district of Kyoto City's Nishikyo Ward. With excellent accessibility, it is only about 10 minutes by train from Kyoto Station and approximately 30 minutes from Osaka Station. The area is also easily reached by car via interchanges on the Meishin Expressway and the Kyoto-Jukan Expressway.

At the foot of the Nishiyama mountain range, which extends from Arashiyama, visitors will find numerous temples and shrines associated with Pure Land Buddhism and Kannon (Avalokitesvara) worship, reflecting the area's deep spiritual heritage. Known as one of Japan's finest bamboo shoot-producing regions, the area is also home to the Muko Bamboo Path(Take-no-Michi Bamboo Path), a scenic walking trail that runs alongside bamboo groves and features eight distinctive styles of traditional bamboo fences, creating a uniquely beautiful landscape. Tennozan, famed as the site of the historic Battle of Yamazaki, and Yanagidani Kannon Yokoku-ji Temple, widely recognized across Japan as the birthplace of hanachozu (flower-filled water basins).
