Today, we are pleased to introduce one of our signature experiences—a tour that celebrates the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Kihoku Town. Home to the Iseji Route of the Kumano Kodo, a UNESCO World Heritage pilgrimage route, Kihoku is one of Japan's finest destinations for experiencing breathtaking landscapes and centuries of history.
In recent years, sections of the Kumano Kodo have been damaged by wildlife and the effects of natural aging. To help preserve this precious heritage, participants join members of the Kumano Kodo Preservation Association in hands-on conservation activities. Along the way, they gain a deeper understanding of the trail's history, culture, and spiritual significance while making a meaningful contribution to its preservation. Through this unique experience, we hope to ensure that the Kumano Kodo will continue to inspire and welcome visitors for the next 100 years and beyond.
