Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture, is situated in the center of Japan and is surrounded by abundant natural scenery, including numerous famous peaks exceeding 2,000m and the Nagara River, one of Japan's three major clear streams.
In summer, there are plenty of activities that take advantage of the clear stream of the Nagara River. In winter, you can enjoy skiing at the largest snow resort in western Japan, which boasts abundant snow. In addition, you can enjoy various outdoor activities throughout the year.

Hachiman Town in Gujo City has a unique history and culture and it has prospered as a castle town since a castle was built on Mt. Hachiman. Gujo Hachiman Castle is the oldest rebuilt wooden castle in Japan and it was selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles in April 2017.
Shirotori Town is a village of Hakusan culture where worship of the sacred mountain Hakusan was started by a Buddhist monk named Taicho Daishi in 717.
Hachiman Town and Shiratori Town have Gujo Odori dance and Shirotori Odori dance respectively. Both of which have a history of over 400 years. In particular, the Gujo Odori dance was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in November 2022.
