Tourism EXPO Japan 2025 Aichi/Central Japan

National Park ( Nikko National Park / Oze National Park )

(Nikko National Park: A variety of natural beauty and a majestic cultural heritage of mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and wetlands)
Nikko National Park was established in 1934 as one of the oldest parks in Japan. Most of the park area, which spans Fukushima, Tochigi, and Gunma prefectures, is mountainous terrain that belongs to the Nasu Volcanic Zone. The park is home to such mountains as Nikko Shiranesan (2,578 m), the highest mountain north of the northern Kanto region; Nantai-san (2,486 m), famous since ancient times as a mountain of faith; and Chausudake (Mt. Nasu) (1,917 m), still active as a volcano.
The lakes, marshes, waterfalls, and valleys created by volcanic activity are spread out on the plateau at the foot of these mountains, creating a beautiful landscape that changes with the seasons.
On the other hand, Nikko Toshogu Shrine and other shrines and temples registered as World Heritage sites and numerous historical buildings are also major attractions.
Nikko National Park welcomes visitors with a combination of majestic cultural heritage that conveys the history of Japan and a variety of natural beauty. Easily accessible from Tokyo, Nikko National Park is a sightseeing spot where visitors from both Japan and overseas can easily come and experience the "charm of Japan.

(Oze National Park: relatively easy to access from Tokyo, and a great way to experience a different world)
Most of Oze National Park is in Gunma and Fukushima prefectures, with parts in Niigata and Tochigi prefectures, so the area spans four prefectures. Oze is known for its wide marshes with endless boardwalks, where colorful flowers such as Asian skunk cabbage and day lilies bloom in full bloom, and is popular with many hikers. Oze has more than 10 mountain huts and toilets at major points, so there is no shortage of places to rest or stay. Many of the hiking trails have boardwalks, so you can walk around relatively easily.
