--- Commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Designation of Setonaikai National Park ---
On March 16, 1934, Setonaikai National Park, known as the "Jewel of the World," was designated as Japan's first national park.Kagawa Prefecture is home to a glittering sea, dotted with many islands and abundant in beautiful scenery, where, with the help of the artworks of the Setouchi Triennale, art and nature blend into one another. With delicious local foods you can't find anywhere else, and so much more, you can find the magic of the Seto Inland Sea in so many places. Various events are being held throughout Kagawa Prefecture to commemorate the Setonaikai National Park's 90th anniversary. We've picked out a few below:
1. Island Volunteer Trips
Day-trips and overnight stays where you can interact with the locals through trash collection, grass cutting and other volunteer activities.

2. Island Cruises
Creating and selling experience-oriented cruising tours that take advantage of the nature, food, and culture unique to the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, which is attracting attention both in Japan and abroad.

1. Special Place of Scenic Beauty "Ritsurin Garden"
A garden awarded 3 stars by Michelin Green Guide Japan where you can enjoy boat rides and matcha tea.
2. Shodoshima Island
Hishio no Sato, olive harvesting workshops (fall only), and much more. Shodoshima Island is full of fun and instagrammable spots.
3. Chichibugahama Beach
A scenic spot, referred to as Japan's Salar de Uyuni, where you can take stunning photos.
4. Mt. Yashima
A roof-shaped volcanic plateau known for being the ancient battlefield of the Genpei War. Yashimaru, a mountaintop facility featuring a 200-meter corridor with unique waves and curves, is an excellent viewing spot where one can appreciate the sunsets, nighttime scenery and overall beauty of the Seto Inland Sea.
