Tourism EXPO JAPAN 2024
IKATA Town Office, Tourism and Commerce Division
The Sadamisaki Peninsula (Ikata Town) is located at the westernmost tip of Shikoku and is famous as the longest and slenderest peninsula in Japan.
It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Matsuyama City in Ehime Prefecture. It is sandwiched between two oceans, the Seto Inland Sea and the Pacific Ocean, with Oita, famous for its Beppu hot springs, on the opposite shore. Therefore, as the gateway to Kyushu, many people and goods cross the sea.
While the ocean currents are strong, the area is blessed with abundant fresh seafood, which attracts many tourists.
Because of the peninsula's unique lack of flat land, people have built their houses and fields with piles of stones, fostering a unique culture.
There are attractions that can only be experienced on the Sadamisaki Peninsula, and we invite you to visit us and work with us to create ideas for your tour.
