The Soya region of Hokkaido is the northernmost area of Japan, consisting of 11 cities, towns and villages, including the two islands of Rishiri and Rebun.
Surrounded by the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan, many tourists visit every year for the seafood caught from the two seas, the rich nature unique to this area, and activities such as cycling and trekking that can be enjoyed in the nature.
This region has many attractions: gourmet food such as "sea urchin" and "scallop", magnificent views such as "Mt. Rishiri" and "Soya Hills", and "Toyotomi Onsen", which is used for atopic dermatitis treatment. We especially recommend visiting Soya, which is full of hidden charms, to repeat visitors to Hokkaido.
