Tourism EXPO Japan 2026
Mino City
Mino City is a small town with a population of about 20,000, located in the heart of Gifu Prefecture. The clear waters of the Nagara River flow down from beyond the towering mountains, have long brought people and culture to this land. The traditional townscape that still remains today is seamlessly woven into everyday life, preserving the elegance and atmosphere of the Edo period. In the mountain village that spreads along the Itadori River, a tributary of the Nagara, the traditional craft of Mino Washi was born. For over 1,300 years, this paper-making has been passed down, supported by the blessings of pure, flowing waters. A town and craft shaped by clear streams—rich in history and culture. The landscape, formed over time, feels solemn, nostalgic, and gently new. Why not take a journey through Mino, where tradition gently flows into the present?
