Tourism EXPO Japan 2026
Kumano Area Tourism Promotion Executive Committee
"Relax. Refresh. Rejuvenate." Come and discover a journey through the Kumano area!
At our booth, we will introduce travel information for the Kumano area, along with sales of goods from the Whale Museum, tasting of popular processed products made with jabara citrus, and hands-on experiences such as making a Kushimoto pin badge—the southernmost point of Honshu—as well as a VR experience.
The Kumano area is full of unique attractions you can only find here, including the Kumano Sanzan and Kumano Kodo of the UNESCO World Heritage site "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range," the Japanese Heritage designation "Living in Harmony with Whales," which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, the Nanki Kumano Geopark, and even the Kairos rocket.
You can also enjoy distinctive local flavors such as mehari-zushi, fresh tuna, whale, game meat, jabara citrus, and shorasan katsuobushi; famous hot springs like Kumano Hongu Onsen, Nanki Katsuura Onsen; and travel experiences that will spark your sense of adventure, including Kumano River boat cruising and the Kitayama River tourist log rafting.
