Arida Regional Exchange Council is an organization made up of one city and three towns in the Arida region of Wakayama Prefecture.
In the Arida area (Arida City, Yuasa Town, Hirogawa Town, Aridagawa Town) there are terraced mikan (Citrus unshiu) gardens built with stone walls that have been recognized as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System, spreading across the mountains. Besides the natural scenery like the sea and rivers, there are also lots of attractions, including Japan Heritage sites with various stories in the adjacent towns and the Kumano Kodo (Kiiji).
Before visiting Shirahama, before visiting Kumano, or after visiting Koyasan, how about adding an extra tourism in the Arida region?
