Saikai City is located next to Nagasaki City and Sasebo City, the two largest cities in Nagasaki Prefecture. Despite its convenient location, Saikai still retains nostalgic rural landscapes, traditional ways of life, and warm connections among local people.

Saikai City is currently focusing on the development of travel products that make use of the region's natural environment and hands-on outdoor experiences.

We offer a wide range of experiential programs, including farm, forestry, and fishing village homestays, agricultural and fishing activities, nature-based experiences, and local food culture programs. Saikai City also welcomes educational travel groups, particularly school excursions, and many schools have made use of our programs, which allow students to interact with local residents and experience the unique lifestyle of the region.

In addition, approximately 60 experience instructors are active in the city. With a strong focus on safety management, we are working to provide reliable and high-quality hands-on programs. We also continue to develop new experiential content using local resources and to train local instructors.

In recent years, we have also been strengthening our peace education programs. By utilizing war-related sites and historical resources in Sasebo City and Saikai City, we are developing inquiry-based programs under the theme of "Peace Education Beyond the Peace Memorial Park." By combining visits to wartime remains with hands-on learning, we offer opportunities for students to learn about regional history, people's lives, and peace from multiple perspectives.
