Tourism EXPO Japan 2026

Hyogo Tourism Bureau

Hyogo Prefecture boasts the largest land area in the Kansai region and is a diverse and captivating destination, bordered by the Sea of Japan to the north and the Seto Inland Sea to the south. Comprising five historic provinces—Settsu, Harima, Tajima, Tanba, and Awaji—the region is blessed with rich tourism resources, including unique local cuisine, hot springs (onsen), history, nature, and outdoor activities nurtured in each distinct area.

Located in the heart of Japan, the prefectural capital of Kobe is exceptionally accessible: just 20 minutes from Osaka and 50 minutes from Kyoto via JR lines, and less than 3 hours from Tokyo by Shinkansen (bullet train).

The Hyogo Tourism Association proposes the "Hyogo Terroir Journey," a travel concept that explores the origins of each region's unique food and culture, as well as the stories behind the traditions passed down through generations. A major highlight of this journey is the opportunity to see, learn about, and experience the distinct characteristics of each area firsthand.

Since 2021, we have been developing and refining high-value "Hyogo Terroir Contents" that leverage the tourism resources of various regions across the prefecture. Through these efforts, we are actively promoting themed tourism that connects these unique experiences through compelling regional stories.
