Tourism EXPO Japan 2026

Hiroshima Tourism Association

Hiroshima Prefecture, home to World Heritage sites like Itsukushima Shrine and the Atomic Bomb Dome. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Itsukushima Shrine being registered as a World Heritage site, bringing renewed attention to its value.
Along the calm Seto Inland Sea, towns rich in history and culture spread out, such as Kure, where the battleship Yamato was built, and Onomichi, loved by the writer Naoya Shiga.
In the north, the area is wrapped in the rich nature of the Chugoku Mountains and is a place where Hiroshima Kagura is still passed down. Also, Mount Hiba in Shobara, said to be the mausoleum of Izanami, was used as a filming location for director Kore-eda's new movie.
With both sea and mountains, history and daily life in harmony, Hiroshima Prefecture offers visitors new discoveries and moving experiences.
