West Kowloon Cultural District Authority

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority is a statutory body established by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2008 under the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Ordinance (Cap.601), responsible for developing the WestK. The WestK is one of the largest and most ambitious cultural projects in the world. Its vision is to create a vibrant new cultural quarter for Hong Kong on 40 hectares of reclaimed land. With an array of theatres, performance spaces and museums, the WestK produces and hosts world-class exhibitions, performances, and cultural events. Currently open to the public are the Art Park (2016), The Xiqu Centre (2019), Freespace(2019), M+ (2021) and the Hong Kong Palace Museum (2022), with the WestK Performing Arts Centre Complex is under construction. Visitors can enjoy the highest-quality visual and performing arts from Hong Kong and around the world, as well as national treasures from the Palace Museum and cultural heritage of other civilizations.
