Tourism EXPO Japan 2025 Aichi/Central Japan

ichikikushikino city
Ichikikushikino City is located in the western part of Kagoshima Prefecture, and is a port town with a retro atmosphere, surrounded by the natural beauty of the sea and mountains.
It is a town of food, boasting a rich food culture, with delicious food that will warm your heart, from tsukiage (fried fish cakes), chirimen (dried small sardines), tuna, ponkan (a type of orange citrus fruit), sour pomelo, and ham products, to specialty coffee and shochu from breweries.
The city is dotted with many valuable historical and cultural heritage sites, including the deep-sea tuna fishery that has been thriving since the Meiji era, and the Kushikino Gold Mine, which has been dug for 350 years and supported the finances of the Satsuma Domain. Ichikikushikino Port, which flourished as the first post town for those on alternate attendance routes, Hashima, the departure point for the Satsuma Students, and Mount Kanmuritake and Kanmuritake Garden, where the legend of Xu Fu is passed down. And the foot of Kushikino, which has been designated a Japan Heritage Site.
Ichikikushikino is a place where various events, people and things have come together and have walked their own unique paths.
The local history and culture that has been born from this and is deeply rooted in the region is overflowing with charm!
Why not take a journey to a new, unknown world?
