Eumseong Pumba Festival

Pumba is a word that appears repeatedly in the repeating parts of songs sung by beggars who used to go around the town and squares to beg for food, money, and other items in the past when they were poor. It doesn't have any particular meaning, but it is a word that always appears in beggar songs to keep the rhythm, and it is now used to mean beggars. However, these days, most beggars do not actually beg, but instead perform at events, festivals, and on stage.

The Eumseong Pumba Festival, held every year in Eumseong, features a program that recalls the difficult times of the past and shows various beggar performances and the lifestyles of beggars.
The beggars who participate in the Eumseong Pumba Festival and perform various performances are representative beggars who are active in squares, festivals, and stages all over the country. Therefore, the Eumseong Pumba Festival is a lively and fun festival where you can see the audience laughing and enjoying themselves all over the festival venue.

You can try on Pumba costumes and experience musicals, dance, and more.
Anyone can participate in the street parade by dressing up as Pumba and experiencing a variety of Korean and Korean regional foods.
