State of Washington Tourism

Situated in the Pacific Northwest region, the State of Washington boasts diverse landscapes, scenic byways, varied climates, and a rich history. Seattle, its largest city, offers stunning natural beauty, world-class attractions, major sports teams, and a vibrant arts scene. With Seattle at its core, the Metro Puget Sound Region boasts activities and attractions for urbanites and outdoorsy types alike, with world-class museums, destination restaurants, professional sporting events, and easy access to nature.
The state is also a haven for climbers and nature-lovers, with peaks like Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, and the active Mount St. Helens, as well as scenic destinations such as the Olympic National Park and the San Juan Islands. Washington's fertile soils support over 300 commercial crops and livestock, making it a top agricultural region. It is also a major wine producer, with 20 American Viticultural Areas and over 1,000 wineries producing 17 million cases annually in 80 varieties. Home to 29 federally recognized Native American tribes, Washington's Indigenous culture enriches its history and community.
From mountains and rainforests to wine country and urban areas, the Evergreen State is a year-round destination!
