In Japan, motorcycling has long been enjoyed in several ways: "touring," which focuses on the joy of riding itself; "racing," as a sport or hobby; and "race spectating," centered on watching competitive events.
JMTO was founded to promote "Moto Tourism," a style of motorcycle travel that adds new dimensions to traditional touring—taking time to appreciate scenic landscapes, experiencing local traditions and culture, and enjoying unique activities available only in each region. Our mission is to encourage riders to embrace the entire journey and discover deeper, richer ways to enjoy traveling by motorcycle.
To cultivate and advance a Moto Tourism culture that blends Japan's world‑class tourism resources with the joy of motorcycling, JMTO works in collaboration with national and local governments as well as the travel industry. Acting as a hub between the motorcycle and tourism sectors, we are developing an environment that enables the dissemination of Japan's fascination and diverse travel information both domestically and internationally. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring safe and secure travel experiences and to expanding the community of Moto Tourism enthusiasts.
