To the north lies the Genkai Sea, with its scenic coastline designated as Genkai Quasi-National Park. To the south stretches the fertile Saga Plain, adjacent to the Ariake Sea, known for its vast tidal flats with a tidal range of up to six meters. Ogi City, located along the Nagasaki Kaido (Sugar Road), a designated Japan Heritage route, is known as Japan's top town for yōkan (sweet bean confection).
