Turrets. (Yagura)
Osaka Castle features five historical turrets (designated as Important Cultural Properties) that have survived fires and air raids since the Edo period. These turrets were built during the castle's reconstruction by the Tokugawa period They served as front line of protecting castle and countering the enemy. Two of the turrets are available for private tour.
Osaka Castle Gozabune Boat
The Osaka Castle Gozabune boat is modelled on the Houou Maru (Phoenix Boat), as depicted in the "Folding Screen Illustrating Osaka During the Toyotomi Period" . The Gozabune boats are painted gold, taking inspiration from images associated with Hideyoshi, such as the Golden Tea Room. Gold leaf is also used on the ceiling of the boat.
