Takachiho Town, located in northern Miyazaki Prefecture, is a tourist destination rich in storytelling, known as the setting for the Japanese myth of "Tenson Kōrin" (the descent of the heavenly grandchild).

From the magnificent Takachiho Gorge, a canyon formed by cliffs created by Aso lava and the Manai Falls, to numerous shrines associated with mythology, and the Takachiho Night Kagura, a traditional dance welcoming the gods, nature, mythology, and traditional performing arts are all condensed into one town.
