Tourism EXPO Japan 2026

HIYOSHIYA

Located in Kyoto's historic Nishijin district, Hiyoshiya is a long-established maker of Kyo-Wagasa (traditional Kyoto umbrellas), founded in the late Edo period.
Preserving one of Kyoto's rare traditional umbrella-making techniques, Hiyoshiya continues to share the beauty of Wagasa craftsmanship with the world through lighting and spatial designs inspired by traditional Japanese umbrellas.

At our workshop, visitors can experience Kyo-Wagasa making and observe artisans at work.
Offering an opportunity to see, touch, and take home a piece of Japanese culture, our programs have become unique cultural experiences for inbound travelers, luxury tours, and hotel guest activities.
We invite you to discover an unforgettable moment that can only be found at an authentic Kyoto workshop.
