Shōgawa Onsenkyō

"A Healing Hot Spring Village with the Colors of the Four Seasons and the Clear Stream"

Nestled in the mountains of Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, the Shōgawa Onsen Village is a tranquil hot spring destination surrounded by the pristine flow of the Shōgawa River and the beauty of nature throughout the seasons.

Shōgawa Seiryū Onsen is rich in minerals such as sodium, calcium, magnesium, and iron. Especially notable is its iron content, which ranks among the highest in Japan, giving the water a distinctive reddish-brown hue—visually representing its healing properties. The water also contains a high concentration of bicarbonate ions, which help warm the body from within, promote blood circulation, relieve fatigue, and provide a relaxing effect.

The spring water is free from harmful substances such as arsenic and cadmium, making it safe and beneficial for beauty and mental wellness. As a healing retreat, it has gained attention for its therapeutic qualities.

In the Michelin Guide 2016 Special Edition for Toyama and Ishikawa, several inns in the area received the highest rating of "4 Red Pavilion Stars" for exceptional comfort and hospitality—the most awarded in Toyama Prefecture.
