Heibonsha Cartographic Publishing
Heibonsha Cartographic Publishing was founded in 1980 as a dedicated map-making company. It all began with a desire to include beautiful, easy-to-understand maps in encyclopaedia. This year, we are celebrating our 45th anniversary.
Over the years, we've created a wide variety of maps for the fields of education and publishing, including encyclopaedia, geography textbooks, and school atlases. From national maps to regional and world maps, we specialize in organizing geographic information according to scale and purpose, and in designing maps that are both informative and accessible.
Maps aren't just about including as much information as possible. Careful editing—choosing the right place names and details for the intended use—is key. Our strength lies in our long-standing expertise in map curation and design.
Recently, we've begun exploring new opportunities in travel and tourism. We're exploring the idea of creating easy-to-follow route maps for cruises and train journeys, and sightseeing maps that showcase what makes each destination special. We are also working on hybrid map formats that combine the beauty and tactile appeal of paper with the interactivity of digital technology.
To share these new initiatives, we're excited to be exhibiting at a travel industry event for the first time.
If you're interested in how maps can enhance travel experiences, we'd love to connect with you—please stop by our booth!
