The Port of Yokohama was opened in 1859 as Japan's first moderninternational trade port and has now become the leading cruiseport in the nation. The port, conveniently located within Tokyo Bayand surrounded by a rich assortment of tourist attractions, plays a vitalrole as the gateway port for metropolitan Tokyo as well as eastern and northern Japan. There are three passenger terminals in Yokohama.
