Japan's Premier Activity Park: GRAVITATE OSAKA
The Longest Suspension Bridge in Japan, 420 meters, Unveiled!
GRAVITATE OSAKA, an upcoming activity facility located within "Dam Park Ibaraki" in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture, is set to open this winter on December 15th. The name "Gravitate" means "to attract" or "to draw towards," and the park aims to captivate a large number of visitors to Osaka.
GRAVITATE OSAKA is poised to be Japan's premier activity park, featuring the country's longest suspension bridge as part of the Ai River Dam development project in Ibaraki City. This bridge, anticipated to be the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan (and among the longest globally), will be a major attraction. Its opening coincides closely with the Osaka Expo in 2025, and it will showcase cutting-edge design and technology from Ibaraki to the world.
Suspension Bridge Overview
The bridge will span 420 meters, making it the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan (and among the top globally). Designed with universal accessibility in mind, it will cater to wheelchair users and people of all ages. From the left bank, visitors will enjoy views of the bridge's dynamic lower structure and the rock-fill dam. The observation area on the bridge's main tower will offer panoramic views of Osaka's cityscape, further enhancing the city's tourism appeal. The facility will also feature six restaurants using local ingredients and one souvenir shop, with plans for additional tenant applications. These establishments will provide diverse dining and shopping opportunities for visitors.
Activities
The suspension bridge is designed not just as a crossing but as an unforgettable experience. It will feature the latest construction technologies and spectacular views, ensuring a memorable visit. Japan's most advanced gravity-based activities will be included, offering unprecedented thrills and excitement. Attractions will feature bungee jumps from approximately 50 meters above the water (depending on water levels), bungee swings, and the world's first Bridge Climb with a 42-degree ascent to the summit. These activities are designed with safety as a top priority and will be accessible to visitors of all ages.
Regional Contribution and Sustainability
GRAVITATE OSAKA is committed to regional contribution and sustainability through this project, aiming to create a sustainable tourist destination. The park supports various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 7-2, 8-2, 8-5, 8-9, and 12-b.
