Tourism EXPO JAPAN 2024
Miyazaki Prefecture
Here in Miyazaki Prefecture, we strive to promote tourism by focusing on the "five S's" as areas of appeal: Shoku (food), Sports, Shizen (nature), Shinrin (forests) and Shinwa (mythology).
There's the Shoku appeal of Miyazaki Wagyu Beef, chargrilled Jidori chicken, chicken nanban, Miyazaki gyoza, mangoes, and Shochu (Japanese spirits). There's the Sports appeal of Sportsland, a destination for professional baseball and Japan Professional Football League camps, training camps for the rugby and baseball national teams, as well as golf tourism and marine sports. There's the Shizen appeal of abundant natural beauty, from the glittering seas around Aoshima and Toimisaki, to the lush mountains of Takachiho Gorge and Ebino Plateau. There's the Shinrin appeal of our registered as UNESCO Eco Parks, recognized as Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems. And there is the Shinwa appeal of mystical "power spots": places enriched with deep spiritual energy, that can be accessed by visiting shrines home to ancient myths and legends, including those relating to the origin of Japan itself. With all these appealing elements brought together in one place, we look forward to welcoming you to our prefecture.
With its warm climate, wide seas, and iconic palm trees, Miyazaki Prefecture is also known as nangoku, the tropical south. And in nangoku, as we say in Japanese, nandemo gokujou! Meaning: you'll find the best of everything. We hope to see you at the Miyazaki booth, where you can experience some of the "nangoku" attractions of Miyazaki Prefecture for yourself.
