We, Japan Adventure Tourism Association (hereinafter referred to as JATO), are an incorporated association established on July 9, 2019.
In order to attract adventure tourists from Europe and Americas, which are AT's main markets, we are going to work with JATO's board members (such as tourism-related organizations, universities, travel-related companies, etc.) to improve adventure travel recognition and spread in Japan, as well as to support for planning value-added, high-quality and expensive adventure travel products, and to develop distribution channels, and also support the development of adventure travel promotion systems such as human resource development.
JATO collaborates with ministries and tourism-related organizations that have AT promotion as one of their tourism policies, as well as Japanese members of ATTA, a global AT promotion organization based in Seattle.
By developing human resources who can promote AT, we will support the spread of the world's highest standard AT and the creation of sustainable tourist destinations.
