ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES
Ethiopian Airlines, celebrating its 78th anniversary this year, operates six flights a week from Narita to Addis Ababa via Seoul (Inchon). The flight schedule is as follows: from Narita to Addis Ababa at 21:15, arriving in Addis Ababa at 06:45 (the next day), and return from Addis Ababa to Narita at 22:35 (the next day).
The aircraft used on the Narita route is a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with 24 business class seats and 246 economy class seats. The Boeing 787-900 may also be used.
Other aircraft in its fleet include Airbus A350s, Boeing 777/767s, Q400 Bombardiers, and cargo planes, for a total of 146 aircraft, making it the largest fleet of any African airline.
Ethiopian Airlines' hub network at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport connects 136 destinations worldwide and 23 within Ethiopia. The African continent is the largest network with 63 destinations. The network offers daily flights to major European cities as well as Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires, providing convenient access to South America.
A Star Alliance member, Ethiopian Airlines has been recognized as the "Best African Airline" by Skytrax, a London-based global airline rating company, for seven consecutive years through 2024. The airline operates the Ethiopian Aviation University, which trains pilots, flight attendants, and mechanics. It also operates The Skylight Hotel in the city of Addis Ababa, and The Skylight Inn Terminal Hotel directly connected to the airport terminal.
The airline offers a variety of innovations to make long-haul air travel more comfortable, including in-flight meals prepared with a variety of organic ingredients, in-flight Wi-Fi, MySheva space (for a fee) that allows passengers to occupy three seats in economy class, and a bidding system that allows passengers to bid on upgrades to business class at a desired price.
