The area is one of Japan's leading snow resorts, where you can enjoy skiing, snowshoeing and kamakura in winter.
Once the snow melts, cherry blossoms bloom in many areas from mid to late April.
In summer, try activities in cool highlands such as Shiga Kogen and Myoko Kogen, or Lake Nojiri.
The autumn leaves are beautiful in fall. From September to November, you can taste juicy apples and grapes.
