The Aso-Kuju National Park
Characteristics
The Aso-Kuju National Park was established in 1934. The major features of this park are Mt. Aso standing tall in the massive caldera, a group of volcanoes stretching in its north such as Kuju Mountain Range, and majestic and gentle grasslands spreading around them.
In the vicinity of Mt. Aso in the south of the park, a series of magnificent and breathtaking scenery including a fuming crater of Mt. Nakadake, a beautiful volcanic cone of Komezuka, vast Kusasenrigahama Beach, surrounding crater basins, and a somma can be appreciated.

Unzen-Amakusa National Park
Revive your zest for life in this refreshing retreat above the clouds
In 1934, Unzen-Amakusa National Park became one of Japan's first national parks. At the time of its designation, it was comprised only of the Unzen area and known as Unzen National Park, however, in 1956 the Amakusa area was added. The park boasts spectacular landscapes, from the steam wafting from Mt. Unzendake to the seascapes of Amakusa, which interweave islands and sea.
The Unzen area is comprised of the mountainous region of the Shimabara Peninsula, which consists of the Unzen volcanic group, including Mt. Fugendake. From the many high vantage points, there are excellent panoramic views with the sea stretching into the distance on three sides. The park tells the story of the dynamic origins of the earth and the resulting bounty of the land, and as such, Unzen Volcanic Area Global Geopark has been established on the Shimabara Peninsula, with the area within the national park as its core.

Yakushima National Park
Yakushima Island is located about 60 km south of the mainland of Kagoshima Prefecture. In 1993, it was registered as the first World Natural Heritage Site in Japan along with Shirakami-Sanchi, and this year marks its 30th anniversary."Jomon-sugi Cedar" and "Shirataniunsui-kyo Ravine" are famous. Also there are many other attractions such as forest walks, nature observations, and eco-tours of the sea and rivers. It is also a relatively large island with a lot of rain, so you may not be able to work as planned. We recommend that you come at least 4 nights and 5 days if possible, including a reserve day.
The Ministry of the Environment, Yakushima Town, and other related organizations are working on various issues to protect the nature of Yakushima and allow many people to enjoy it.
At the Yakushima booth, we will introduce the latest situation in Yakushima and what we want everyone who visits Yakushima to know.
(1) The "Yakushima Town Ecotourism Promotion Overall Concept" was formulated this year, which stipulates the concept of ecotourism in Yakushima and the rules to be followed by users and guide operators. We will introduce the contents of this concept.
(2) We have created a video that introduces the rules and manners that we want you to follow in nature in an easy-to-understand manner. In addition to being available on Youtube so that you can view it even before you come to Yakushima, it is broadcast with English captions at each port and airport that is the gateway to the island. In the future, we are promoting dissemination and enlightenment so that it can be widely used, such as by incorporating it into travel reservation systems.
(3) Yakushima Town recommends the use of "official guides" certified by the town. Certified guides are guides who have cleared the requirements such as guiding experience, professional qualifications, and community contribution. We will introduce you to an official guide who knows more about the nature of Yakushima.
